Second Covid-19 Booster Vaccines Available from Brunswick County Health Services

Brunswick County Health Services is now offering second boosters of the COVID-19 vaccine to eligible community members beginning today, Friday, April 1.

The following individuals are now eligible for second boosters, according to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS):

  • You are 50 or older and got your first booster shot at least FOUR months ago, or

  • You are 12 or older and have a compromised immune system and got your first booster at least FOUR months ago, or

  • You received a total of two shots of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least four months ago

Getting a second booster may be especially important for people over the age of 65 and those older than 50 with underlying health conditions that put them at high risk of severe disease.

Eligible community members can book an appointment for their second booster at our main health clinic in Bolivia either online or through the Public Health Call Line:

  • Call the Public Health Call Line at 910.253.2339 (Open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays)

Brunswick County Health Services is also holding two pop-up clinics at Town Creek Park in Winnabow Monday, April 4 and Monday, April 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Learn more and check for future pop-up clinics at brunswickcountync.gov/covid19clinics.

COVID-19 vaccines are free to everyone regardless of whether they have insurance. Insurance is not required, but you are encouraged to bring your ID and insurance cards, if available.
