On January 6, 2023, the Not Above the Law and Declaration For American Democracy coalitions are partnering to hold nationwide actions on the second anniversary of the violent attack on our Capitol. In 1898 in Wilmington, NC the only successful government takeover in American history took place. We will compare January 6th to the events of 1898.

We cannot be complacent; together on January 6th, we will mobilize to both observe the January 6th attacks and launch into the next phase in our work:

1. Passing local, state, and federal legislation to protect our freedoms.

2. Pushing back against the potential sham investigations the new congress is planning.

3. Uplifting the findings of real critical investigations like the Jan 6th investigation.

4. 1898 taught in all education curriculums.
