Brunswick Beacon, 06.26.25
On June 12, as Trump signed a bill about gasoline-powered cars, he launched into what he calls “the weave,” a meandering digression into areas whose connection to the day’s topic is known only to him. "Russia fought with us in WWII and everybody hates them,” Trump blurted out. “But Germany and Japan, they're fine. Someday somebody will explain that.”
Trump returned to his quarters and downed what his son-in-law says is his favorite meal: “McDonald’s Big Mac, Filet-o-Fish, fries and a vanilla shake.” Trump went to bed alone because Melania doesn’t live with him. Someday somebody will explain that.
At midnight, Trump woke to see Winston Churchill by his bed. "From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic," Winston explained, "an iron curtain has descended across the Continent. Behind it, Warsaw, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Belgrade, Bucharest and Sofia live under control from Moscow." Trump muttered, “Fake news!” and rolled over.
At 1 AM, Trump woke as JFK spoke with great vigah. “There are people in the world who don't understand,“ Kennedy explained, eyeballing Trump with an accusatory stare, “what the great issue is between us and Russia. Let them come to Berlin! All free men, wherever they may live, are citizens of Berlin, and, as a free man, I take pride in the words, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Trump yawned, and drifted off.
At 2 AM, Trump woke once more as Ronald Reagan explained, "Russia’s leaders have openly declared that the only morality they recognize is that which will further their cause, which is world revolution." Reagan warned Trump to not "ignore the facts of history and the aggressive impulses of an evil empire.”
Trump mumbled, “I hate being woke!” and ignored them all. "You may be an undigested bit of beef, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of underdone potato,” he sneered. "There's more of gravy than of grave about you!" He burped, then fell soundly back asleep.
