Thank you to our photographers, Jeff Eighmy (Wilmington protest) & Lon Anderson (OKI march).

On July 17, as part of the 50501 Protest Movement, "Good Trouble" lived on with BCDP members and allies, who participated in two local civil rights protests, each attracting over 300 people.

Congressional candidate Dr. Kimberly Hardy (D) was the keynote speaker for a Wilmington rally co-sponsored by Wilmington Indivisible, the New Hanover and Brunswick County Democratic Parties, Southeast NC Women Forward, and ILM Action Network. Acquinetta Beatty, BCDP Secretary, sang both the National and the Black National Anthems, and Brunswick County NAACP President Carl Parker was one of the featured speakers.

In Oak Island, BCDP collaborated with the Liberals of Oak Island to stage a civil rights walk in honor of John Lewis. Caroline Carolina, with the Liberals, and Maria Surprise, BCDP Fundraising Chair and Secession 2 Precinct Chair, kicked off the march with rousing speeches. Thanks to many generous donors, our organizations also collected an impressive amount of goods for local charities (non-perishable foods, feminine hygiene products, and pet products).

Thank you, Tobi DeFalco, for this fabulous video of our Good Trouble Civil Rights Walk!
