Shingletree 2 Precinct, with Chair Nancy Briganti, hosted a successful and informative “Senior Resources Forum,” open to the public, in Carolina Shores on October 18.
Rene Tarquinio, Senior Aging Resources Specialist with Brunswick Senior Resources (BSR), spoke to a crowd of 50 people about the services the non-profit organization provides for Brunswick County residents.
The audience learned about programs seniors can access through BSR like Meals on Wheels, Road to Recovery (for people with cancer), Family Caregivers Support, Medication Assistance, Brunswick Transit, and more.
Susan West, Senior Housing coordinator, also presented information on all-inclusive senior communities (including in-home aid as needed) being planned and built in our county.
Brunswick Senior Resources provides its services at no cost, but the organization welcomes contributions to keep its programs going in order meet the needs of seniors in our county. BSR has centers in Calabash, Leland, Shallotte, Southport, and Supply.
