Media advisory: Brunswick, New Hanover Democrats to stage "Hands Off" rally

The Brunswick County and New Hanover County Democratic parties are joining pro-democracy Americans across the U.S. on Saturday, April 5 in a peaceful protest demanding an immediate end to the Trump-Musk coup.

The rally, at the Brunswick County Courthouse in Bolivia, will feature speakers from a wide range of backgrounds who will protest attempts by the Trump Administration to reduce or eliminate essential government programs that benefit Americans — including the elderly, veterans, Medicaid recipients and the economically disadvantaged. Speakers will also discuss the impact these draconian measures are already having on residents of Brunswick and New Hanover counties.

The rally in Bolivia is being held in concert with a nationwide “Hands Off” protest, to be staged April 5 in state capitals and Washington, DC. In addition to the Brunswick-New Hanover rally, demonstrations are planned for all 50 state capitals, Washington, DC, and cities large and small — ranging from New York to Salina, KS. On that day, millions will gather to protest Trump’s unconstitutional power grab and to urge all freedom-loving Americans to join the fight to preserve democracy.
