Brunswick Beacon, 04.17.25
I am a registered, proud Democrat who believes in We the People, which includes everyone, no matter their politics, color, sexual preference, or political persuasion. Truthfully, I believe that the person who calls himself a President (with 34 felony charges) is not like any other who has held the Office of the President.
During the elections, some people said they wanted a change. I wonder if they now realize that it’s true that people need to be careful about what they wish for. I’ve become collateral damage to their wants. I find myself angry, scared, and heartsick at what is happening to us, the rule of law, and our beloved country. I’ve always accepted the outcome of an election, no matter what party won. That person was my President and I believed that he or she (I wish) would care about ensuring that the United States would continue to be a place that all could prosper and live in freedom.
That’s not the case in 2025. Congress needs to step up and put a stop to the insanity that is happening. I pray that people across this country continue to rally together to let it be known that we are not happy. I hope like-minded people, no matter their political persuasion, rise up and show how unhappy we are with what is happening. I won’t stop being seen and heard and I hope others won’t either. May God bless all of us and may God bless this great country of ours.
