Frank Iler has gone over the line

I just read Representative Frank Iler’s column in the Oct. 30 Beacon and I am appalled that he stated, “I encourage all my friends and colleagues to have personal protection such as pepper spray or more lethal means.”

It is very disturbing to me that he received threats of violence in response to the Republican redistricting. I do not agree with the Republican changes in voting districts to disenfranchise certain voters merely because President Trump asked them to do it, BUT THERE IS NEVER A PLACE FOR VIOLENCE! And to read an elected official’s words encouraging his friends to have “more lethal means than pepper spray” infers that he is condoning gun violence. This is truly terrifying.
