Over 100 people attended the first annual "Women Saving Democracy" luncheon on
April 18, 2026, hosted by the Brunswick County Democratic Women (BCDW). During
the luncheon, keynote speaker Dr. Kimberly Hardy (U.S. House of Representatives
candidate for NC 7th District) was presented with a campaign donation of $1,000
from the luncheon proceeds. The group will use further luncheon proceeds to support other women candidates for local offices.
