If you liked “The Stepford Wives” and “A Handmaid’s Tale,” you should watch Sen. Katie Britt’s breathless videotaped response to President Biden’s State of the Union speech, which even Republicans called “creepy,” “scary,” and “one of our biggest disasters ever.”
Britt demanded border security, despite following Trump’s order to kill Biden’s bipartisan border security deal. Sen. Romney (R-UT) called it “appalling” that “Trump doesn’t want us to solve the border problem because he wants to blame Biden for it.”
Then, Britt described speaking “in Texas” to Karla Jacinto, who at age 12 was sex-trafficked by Mexican cartels. “The cartels put her on a mattress in a shoe-box of a room, and sent men through that door, over and over again, for hours and hours on-end,” she said. “We wouldn’t be OK with this happening in a third-world country. This is the United States of America, and it’s past time we start acting like it.” Britt called it “almost entirely preventable” and blamed it on Biden’s policies.
Except none of it happened in the United States! Jacinto was kidnapped and raped only in Mexico between 2004 and 2008, when George W. Bush was president. She still lives in Mexico, never lived in the United States and never sought asylum here.
Britt’s willingness to torture the truth on sexual violence didn’t end there. While decrying sexual assault, she urged Americans to vote for an adjudicated sexual predator currently free on bail!S
Trump, Republicans’ presumptive presidential nominee, sexually assaulted E. Jean Carroll then defamed her by falsely denying her rape allegations. A federal judge ordered Trump to pay Carroll $83.3 million because, “As the evidence at trial makes clear, the jury found that Mr. Trump in fact did exactly that.”
Trump starts another trial March 25 on 34 election fraud felonies. He paid hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels days before the 2020 election and after the release of an “Access Hollywood” tape, in which Trump admits grabbing women by the genitals.
MAGA Republicans believe Trump and Britt are responsible stewards of their beliefs and philosophy. Why in the world would reasonable voters support either of them or their party?
