The absence of three Democrats couldn't support and sustain Gov. Cooper's veto of the new pistol permit system. Our legislators let us down and allowed the overturn of the Governor’s veto and the loosening rather than tightening of gun regulations by the GOP. Need I remind everyone that as of today, there have been nineteen school shootings and thirty-seven other mass killings. I know a pistol is not an automatic weapon, but there will be no background check for person-to-person sales which had been under county sheriffs' control. I am more than disappointed; I am angry. we must hold all legislators accountable.
