Dr. William “Bill” Flythe is uniquely qualified to serve on the Board of Education. A doctorate in Chemistry was obtained from Howard University (D.C.). Twenty years were spent in industry as a chemist and Senior Laboratory Supervisor. Fifteen years were spent in the classroom at the high school and college level.  If elected, Dr. Flythe will push for increased funding of public education, promote the STEM curriculum, and emphasize the need for safe schools. David Sink, a native of Lexington NC, served 31 years in the North Carolina Community College System. He was president of two colleges: Roanoke Chowan for five years and Blue Ridge for 20 years. Upon his retirement he received the Long Leaf Pine Award by the Governor of North Carolina.
